No wonder that there are so many Wood Pigeons and Collared Doves, according to the Big Garden Birdwatch results there has been a large increase in these birds this year (2009). No wonder the seed is vanishing fast with these around.
The snow helped to pick out where the Fieldfare was when trying to focus the camera on it.
This was my first sighting of this bird. Seconds before it had been preening its speckled chest feathers. Seen side on it has a yellow beak with a black tip to it. Much bigger looking than a Blackbird but not as big as a Collared Dove.
