Butterflies are not always easy to identify. The white Pierids are very similar to one another. This is the LARGE WHITE butterfly. It was very difficult to see the open wings as this particular kind rest with their wings closed. Males and females are different in their markings. This is the female due to the extra spots on her forewings.

The large eyes of the butterfly are quite remarkable as they can see what is coming without a head movement.

A Butterfly's body is made up of three parts.
